Lean leaders need to go beyond learning about the tools of Continuous Improvement. They need to coach and mentor team members to problem solve every day! Our 4 ½-day Lean Leadership Boot Camp takes lean practitioners through an intense learning experience focused on the leadership and management of a sustainable Continuous Improvement (CI) effort.
Creating a Foundation of Stability and Leading thru Lean and Value Stream Mapping (VSM):
Day 1 – uses a hands-on Buzz factory simulation to apply lean principles. Value Stream Mapping is introduced to enable one to grasp the current condition and develop breakthrough challenges aligned with the company vision and goals.
Kata – Improvement & Coaching:
Day 2 -- application of the Toyota Kata discipline to drive continuous improvement, focusing on habits, rapid PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Adjust) cycles, and sustainability of CI initiatives using the Buzz simulation. Teambuilding exercises reinforce the improvement Kata process and communication skills essential for the Coaching Kata.
Leading & Sustaining with 8-Step Problem Solving:
Day 3 - utilizes a lean management framework and 8-step problem solving with exercises and teambuilding.
Importance of Standards – 5S, TWI Job Methods & Job Instruction:
Day 4 – uses a Quick Changeover Simulation to stress the importance of stability & standardization as the foundation for problem solving.
Lean Culture & DiSC Profile:
Day 5 – a systems perspective approach to people processes. The DiSC Profile allows one to know their preferred style and how to more effectively communicate.
