Update on the 2016 Bank Directors’ College at Auburn University:
The 6th annual conference will be held on February 18th & 19th, 2016 (Thursday & Friday of President’s Day Week). This year’s event will be held at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, downtown Auburn, AL.
We have an exceptional slate of speakers that includes regulators, examiners, industry consultants plus legal, accounting and financial experts:
Mike Dean: FDIC Dave Altig: FRB of Atlanta
John Harrison: AL State Banking Department Jim Carley: CFPB
Kevin Hagler: GA Department of Banking & Finance Mike Waters: Jones Walker, LLP
Mark Schmidt & Gale Simons-Poole: Promontory Shaw Lokey: AloStar Bank
Jon Briggs & Gary Svec: Performance Trust John Jahera: Finance Department, Auburn University
Terry Jorde: Independent Community Bankers of America David Wood: Porter Keadle Moore, LLC
This conference qualifies for CPA Continuing Professional Education Units (8 hours).
We are also excited about our pre-conference seminar, Bank Director 101, presented by the Alabama State Banking Department.
John Harrison, Superintendent of Banks and Trabo Reed, Deputy Superintendent of Banks will select current critical topics and make presentations with the goal of re-enforcing the importance of board governance and fiduciary responsibilities, stress that there will always be unexpected surprises and remind that there are personal liabilities of bank directors. This event is tailored to “rookie” bank directors but will be very informative to “veteran” directors and senior officers from Alabama and those from other states. This event will be on the morning of February 18th and held at the same location as our annual conference. Those who attend Bank Director 101 are encouraged to stay for the Bank Directors’ College.
