Economic Update Added to the 2015 Auburn University Bank Directors’ College

We are pleased to announce that David Altig will provide the Economic Update for our 2015 Bank Directors’ College.   Dr. Altig is the Executive Vice President and Director of Research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

In addition to advising the Fed’s president on monetary policy and related matters, Dr. Altig oversees the Bank’s regional executives and the Bank’s research department.   He also serves as a member of the Bank’s management and discount committees.  He leads the Atlanta Fed’s marcroblog, which provides commentary on economic topics, including monetary policy, macro-economic developments, and the Southeast economy.   Dr. Altig’s research is primarily focused on monetary and fiscal policy issues.

Dr. Altig also serves as an adjunct professor of economics in the graduate school of business at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Altig will begin our conference with an update and overview of our national economic position plus an overview of the economic picture of the Southeast.   He is so thorough and precise with the  information included in his presentations, that he reviews and collects the most current  economic data available -- no later than the day before his presentation or the morning of his presentation.

We are very excited to have Dr. Altig participate, again, in our conference and look forward to his up-to-date economic report.  His information should help our attendees with strategic planning for 2015 and beyond.
